Planters Challenge
Planter set out on a campaign where they set up a giant speaking nut can and would eject free packages of nuts for anyone who had the energy to scream “I love mixed nuts” in the middle of an active mall. We were brought along the project to record every person’s reaction. In the cover of night, we had to install a gigantic Planters nut can rigged with wireless gear and hidden camera ops all around an active mall…what could go wrong?Our Challenges
Figuring out a way to rig the wireless gear so that it was not a hazard was a huge challenge. We had to set up in an empty store hundreds of feet away from the ” plant cameras in the Planters Can (no pun intended). The room was completely hidden and we had to somehow figure out a way to patch into a control room across the mall without laying cable across any active walks ways. Finding the equipment that would be able to seamlessly transition the wireless signal for the range that we needed was difficult. And to top it off, it was a last minute project so our special projects techs had to plan meticulously because the installment of the cameras and principle photography had to happen on the same day.A Planters’ Wireless Gear
We used Fiber Optic cables and Bolt 3000 wireless video system to extend our range while keeping our cable footprint to bare minimum. Our Handy Array panel antenna with the bolt system was used to greatly expand the range on our single – don’t leave home without them on any wireless video job!
