One of our most notable clients, Carpool Karaoke, invited us to go to the White House and of course, we jumped at the opportunity. Not only did James Corden end up singing along with the First Lady, Michelle Obama, but he was driving around on the White House premises. Talk about a once in a lifetime experience!
Challenges
We have been in some high security settings before, but this one took the cake. Our crew had to pass the strict background checks, and had to deliver the car a full day in advance to be cleared by the Secret Service. That meant that everything had to be perfectly in order at least a day before the shoot happened, so our timeline was bumped up earlier than it would have been on a regular Carpool episode. That being said, we needed to make sure everything was perfect because we only had one shot with the First Lady.
Pushing the Boundaries
Carpool Karaoke has been able to go to places that no other show has been able to go. It is difficult enough to get onto the White House grounds at all, but to be able to document it is a whole other level. It shows that Carpool Karaoke is truly pushing the boundaries of what is capable on television and elevating the forms of entertainment that is brought to everyone’s screen. We cannot wait to see what other great challenges will come up!
