Hello Carpool Karaoke Arabia!
Carpool Karaoke went viral in America, it was only about time that it moved overseas. Dubai was the first country to consult with CBS International, and bought the Arabic version of Carpool Karaoke to be hosted by Hisham Howaish under the name Carpool Karaoke Arabia. C-mount has been trusted by CBS International to uphold the format and sell internationally, and we could not be more excited to bring one of our favorite segments overseas.
C-mount’s owner, Jason Liquori, was one of the few members of the C-mount crew that had the chance to go abroad for Carpool Karaoke Dubai. Thus, he ended up working almost an entirely local crew, and it was easy for language barriers to arise. However, that being said, despite the language barrier, they could all communicate through tech successfully and create a wonderful product. The first episode of Carpool Karaoke Arabia aired on Dubai TV and , features Lebanese pop star Elissa. It has been a huge hit so far, racking up millions of views, and we hope that it only continues on that upward trend.
The Spread of Carpool Karaoke + What it Means
James Corden has been more than humbled by the spread of his Late Night show. He claims that “what is lovely is other people will be part of it and share it.” The reach of this show is doing its job by helping to find a common ground between people from all over the world. We may not all be so different after all – for one, we all sing our hearts out in the car, and for another, the language of tech can be spoken universally to bring entertainment to all the people.
