Tim Cooke Announces Carpool Karaoke at Apple Keynote
Carpool Karaoke + Apple
As you are probably aware, one of our favorite clients is Carpool Karaoke and they just had a huge announcement. Apple has just acquired the rights to Carpool Karaoke to launch a stand alone series on their new streaming platform “Apple Music.” This is a strategic step as Apple recognizes the need to pump popular content through their burgeoning video channel. If they can be as successful in transforming television as they have with music then you all know what that will mean for the future of this medium.
What This Means For Carpool Karaoke
Quality, and more quality. The challenge for our Special Projects team will be taking a small Late Night, HD segment and producing a long form episodic series to meet Apple’s 4k standards. That’s right – 4k quality of your favs. In addition, James Corden will no longer be the host (although he will still make guest appearances in certain episodes). Instead, Apple Music will pair up two celebrities to get double the entertainment in one episode. The guests range from the iconic John Legend and Alicia Keys pairing to mega sports stars like John Cena and Shaquille O’Neale. Listening to those two sing “Like a Virgin” is truly not to be missed.
We Are Honored To Work With Apple
CMount not only shot the segment to introduce the new series at the Apple Keynote event but will also serve as the main vendor and technical crew for the series itself, and we could not be more honored. Co-Owner of CMount Jason Liquori says, “It’s a cool feeling when Tim Cook looks at your setup and says ‘COOL tech!” It may be a challenge but C-mount as always, is ready to innovate and create. 30 terabits in a car and no space? No problem.
