College Humor & Coke Life
In this episode of College Humor, they partnered up with Coca Cola to promote the new line of Coke Life, which is a lower calorie version of Coke made with cane sugar and stevia leaf extract. Ben Gleib, a well known comedian, tries his charms on local shoppers at a supermarket to promote Coke Life. Through his antics, and people from the control room prompting him to ask questions about Coke Life, it created quite a few laughs and CMount had the pleasure of helping to document it all.
Challenges
The biggest challenge about this shoot is that we had to set up, shoot and strike same day. We had to load in the back door of a supermarket in the wee hours of the morning to rig up some hidden cameras to help spread the word for COKE Life. Since it was an active supermarket, we only had hours to set up hidden cameras, hidden microphones as well as a mobile control and recording system in a back stock room. While all the set up was happening, our “stock boy” set up his Coke Life display on the market for unsuspecting customers.
Equipment
To capture the action we used a combination of POV cameras and “plant mics” around the Coke display, as well as a camera man who stayed out of site with one of our custom discreet DSLR kits. Get some laughs with our gear for your next shoot:
