HARRY STYLES x JAMES CORDEN
In honor of the release of Fine Line, James Corden decided to have one of his Crosswalk Concerts with a somewhat reluctant Harry Styles. In this episode, James goes all out with props, costumes, dancers and fire to make a show for angry LA drivers. Performing “Kiwi,” “Lights Up,” “Watermelon Sugar,” and “Sign of the Times,” with James’s encouragement, Harry eventually gets into it, even if Fairfax traffic does not. The huge props, and dancers, fireworks, alongside regular pedestrians to cross in the matter of seconds is already a hazard for every other crosswalk — but this episode quite soars to new heights.CHALLENGES
It is always sunny in Los Angeles, right? Unlucky for us, it was raining at our 3am call time, and it did not really stop throughout the shoot. We had limited time for mistakes given each of the talents’ tight schedules, and had to set up a wireless video village, along with six cameras and a drone feed to do plug & play for the producers and directors. Our awesome cast and crew brought their A game, and trooped through the rain with a smile on their face. No rain was bringing down this parade. Working against the weather, we also had to create a master control room in the middle of busy Beverly Boulevard inside a pop up tent. Rigging POV cameras on traffic lights, wrapping them in plastic bags to avoid the rain, we had to max out on our efficiency and waterproof equipment as we were definitely fighting mother nature to get the shot.EQUIPMENT
